Jason Rich

Jason Rich was not only a superb student-athlete but also an exceptionalJason Rich individual.  The epitomy of class and maturity, Jason Rich led Dr. Phillips to an undefeated (14-0) Metro Conference Championship in 2004.  His senior season (2004) was remarkable as he set school records for points scored in a season (683) as well as scoring average (22.8).  Despite only playing two years at DP, Rich is third on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,241.

Rich was named First Team All-State in both his junior and senior years.  He was a finalist for Mr. Baskeball in Florida, a Parade All-American and played in the Jordan Capital Classic All-Star Game in Washington, DC.  Rich was also named to the All-Tournament team in every event he played in at Dr. Phillips and was named the school's 2004 Most Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year. Rich had basketball scholarship offers from across the nation and ultimately chose Florida State over Kentucky, Indiana, USC and a host of others.

As a four-year starter for the Seminoles, Rich finished his career as one of the school's top ten all-time leading scorers and sits number one all-time in games played.  He is listed in the top 25 in ten different statistical categories for FSU.  In May 2008, Jason Rich was elected to the Dr. Phillips High School Athletic Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

After graduation, Rich was invited to the Charlotte Bobcats preseason camp but ultimately signed with Pallacanestro Cantu in the Italian Basketball League.  After highly successful stints in both Italy and Israel, Jason Rich now plays professionally in Belgium.
