Doug Gabriel

Doug GabrielDoug Gabriel graduated Dr. Phillips High School in 1997 as the football program's all-time leading receiver. 

After an All-American stint at Mississippi Gulf Coast JC, Doug signed with UCF and became one of the school's most dangerous weapons immediately, setting school records for average yards per reception, reception yards in a season and all-purpose yards. 

By his senior season, he was rated as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2003 NFL draft. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round and spent time with the Raiders, New England Patriots and Cincinnati Bengals. After his six-year NFL career concluded, Doug played in the UFL (United Football League) as well as the Arena Football League for the Orlando Predators in 2011.

Doug Gabriel was inducted into the Dr. Phillips Hall of Fame in 2007 and in 2017 was named head football coach at Liberty High School in Kissimmee.
