Tanner Wright

Tanner Wright is arguably the top Men's Volleyball player to graduate from Dr. Phillips High School, earning four varsity letters. Wright was named team captain as a sophomore, junior and senior and was the team's Most Valuable Player all three years.

Wright holds the school record for assists in a season and was named first team All-Metro Conference three years in a row, second team all-Region as a junior and Central Florida Player of the Year as a senior after leading the Panthers to the 2007 State Championship game, their most successful season in school history.

Tanner Wright's on-court accomplishments pale in comparison to his leadership qualities and strength of character. He earned the school's Bob Noyes Sportsmanship Award as a senior in a landslide vote among the awards committee and served as a mentor to countless younger student-athletes during his tenure at DPHS. Wright accepted a Volleyball scholarship to Quincy University in Illinois where he majored in pre-med and is now studying pediatric medicine in medical school at the University of South Florida.
