DP tops Metro in Academic Team Championship

If you're familiar at all with the Dr. Phillips Athletic Department you know that we strive to be the top program in three facets: athletics, academics and sportsmanship. Last week, we secured our fourth consecutive Metro West Conference All-Sports Award and we're confident about the upcoming FHSAA All-Sports Award presented to the top program in the entire state. Today, the results of the FHSAA's Academic Team Championship were released and we're proud to announce that we are once again the top academic program in the entire Metro Conference (all 19 public high schools) and finished fourth in the state at the Class 8A level, the highest of all Central Florida schools. This year, 26 of our 31 varsity teams earned a cumulative un-weighted GPA over 3.0. In the recently released spring sports standings, our Baseball team finished third in the state in their sport with a GPA of 3.252 and Softball placed fourth with a GPA of 3.415.
