Opening day for Women's Weightlifting saw the Panthers already in midseason form as they dispatched visiting Edgewater, 70-13. DP (1-0) captured all weight classes but one as they eclipsed the 70-point plateau for the first time since 2010. Junior Amani Guzman benched 165 and cleaned 170 to take the Unlimited class while senior Noelani Schwartz took the 199 class with a total lift of 260 pounds. In the 139-pound division, sophomore Jada St. Cyr's 225-pound total lift put her on top of the board and sophomore Jessica Corredor earned top honors in the 101-pound class with a total lift of 180 pounds. DP will be back in the gym next Wednesday as they host Windermere before a two-week road trip at Apopka and Evans.
