After a record-setting performance a week earlier in the District Championship, Men's Cross Country continued their impressive post-season showing with a third-place finish in the Regional Championship Friday in Palm Coast. Bolstered by senior Luis Ortiz' sixth-place individual finish in 16:14, the Panthers' next four scorers crossed within 25 seconds of each other spanning 18 spots. Senior Bo Ivey's time of 17:14 placed him 31st of 133 runners and junior Josh Matzner came through nine seconds later (17:23) to finish 36th. Senior Micah Martin was next through in 17:38 (48th) with sophomore Kervenster Azor (49th) completing the scoring team one second later in a personal best time of 17:39. Junior Anthony Venturini (17:47) and freshman Adam Berriz (17:54) gave the Panthers some insurance with strong runs to close out the race. With a third-place finish, DP automatically advances to the State Championship next Saturday in Tallahassee.
