Women's Cross Country State bronze medalist Isabela Bartczak (2017)

Bartczak 3rd, Women's XC 14th at State
11/11/2017 5:26:00 PM

Senior Isabela Bartczak capped one of the best Women's Cross Country careers in school history with a third-place finish at the State Championship in Tallahassee Saturday. Bartczak, who placed 23rd in last year's State meet, crossed the finish line in a blistering 18:09, the fastest time in her four-year career and fourth-fastest time in school history. DP's top four finishers are all seniors as Sarah Zamot (20:57), Alison Walker (21:04) and Hannah Waddell (21:19) each finished in the top 100 in the field of 191. Sophomore Geraldine Valencia rounded out the top five for DP in 21:51. Senior Sabrina Bahr came through in 22:32 and sophomore Roxanne Deisseroth crossed in 22:48 as the team placed 14th of 24 competing teams. A great day for a great group of seniors who have endured plenty of changes over the course of their careers but never once wavered from their commitments to each other and the program. Congratulations to coach Laura Kirkikis and the entire team on a memorable season!
