Sophomore Jessica Corredor is quickly becoming one of DP's most accomplished athletes this year. Not only is she the defending State Runner-Up in Women's Wrestling, she now shares two Women's Weightlifting school records after a tremendous showing at Evans. Corredor tied the school record in the 101-pound class with a 105-pound bench press (Samantha Smith, 2009) and coupled with her 100-pound clean and jerk, she tied the school record total lift in the division with 205 pounds (Vioty Milord, 2016). DP improved to 4-0 on the season with a resounding 69-20 victory over host Evans by capturing all ten weight classes. Personal records were set by junior Megan Rush in the 119-pound class with a 90-pound bench and 120-pound clean while freshman Zamora St. Cyr set a personal record with a 115-pound bench and 115-pound clean in the 129-pound division. Senior Alexyana Elgani's 250-pound total lift easily won the 154-pound class while at 169 pounds, junior Angelle Domingue set personal bests with a 120-pound bench and 130-pound clean. Junior Amani Guzman finished off the night with a victory in the unlimited class with a total lift of 325 pounds. DP will have just over two weeks to prepare for the Metro West Conference Championship Friday, December 15th, at Edgewater.
