12/9/2017 12:16:00 AM

After a tough loss Tuesday night that saw breakdowns on offense, defense and at the free throw line, Men's Basketball hit on all cylinders Friday night as they jumped out to a 30-6 lead en route to an 81-41 victory over Freedom to move to 3-1 on the season. Senior Daniel Love poured in a game-high 24 points, taking just 13 shots, while dishing out four assists and collecting four steals. Sophomore Abdoulaye Thiam scored 18 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists. Both sophomore Juneau Anicette (ten points, eight rebounds, six assists) and junior Dante Love (13 points, five assists, five rebounds) had strong nights as DP finished with four players in double figures. Senior Esdras Jean closed out with ten rebounds, four points and three assists; junior Jordan Poventud tallied ten rebounds and eight assists; sophomore Chris Wright picked up eight points, including a pair of threes. DP wrote the book on unselfishness, finishing with 33 assists for the game, two shy of the school record set twice in 1996 and again in 2006. JV Basketball evened their record at 2-2 on the season with a 73-47 victory over Freedom as well. Freshmen Basketball improved to 4-0 on the season with a 48-22 victory over the host Patriots as Ledger Hatch (11 points) and Mohammad Chamon (eight points) led the charge for DP. Varsity will be in action Saturday against Hagerty at 6:00 pm at Oviedo HS while Freshmen and JV will be back on the court Wednesday as all three teams head to Oak Ridge.
