The ride may be longer but the result is the same. Women's Soccer headed up to Lake Howell for the third of their four-game road stretch and came home with their eighth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over the Silverhawks. DP (11-0) struck early once again when sophomore Chloe Washington split the pipes in the third minute of the game with the first of her two goals. Senior captain Carmel de Oliveira doubled the lead to 2-0 before the half with a 20-yard laser and in the second half, Washington put the game away for good. Credit sophomore Mackenzie Montague with the shutout in goal for the Panthers, who are currently ranked 12th statewide in Class 5A. JV Soccer also remains among the ranks of the undefeated (4-0-3) as they whipped Lake Howell, 4-1, behind Auriella Wolfgramm's three goals and a solo score from Mary Walters, the first of her DP career. Both teams will have their undefeated records put to the test next week with a road match at St. Cloud Monday and Celebration in the Spoone Wednesday before the holiday break.
