Men's Basketball had a busy holiday break with tournaments in DeLand as well as Nature Coast and the Panthers finished the six-game stretch with a 4-2 record. Up in DeLand, the Panthers hammered Sebastian River in the quarterfinal round, 64-41, as four players scored in double figures. In the semifinal, DP stayed with Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer for a half but lost pace in the second half in an 84-66 loss. Whatever residual frustration existed after that game was quickly expunged in the final game against Deltona Trinity Christian as the Panthers jumped out to a 36-0 lead en route to a 73-21 victory, the second largest margin of victory (52 vs. Boone, 1995) and the second fewest points surrendered in program history (20 vs. Colonial, 1992). Senior guard Daniel Love earned All-Tournament Team honors for DP.

Following the Christmas holiday, DP went back on the road to the Nature Coast Tournament and drew a tough Lakeland team in the opening round as the Panthers fell, 85-76. In the second round, the Panthers were in another dogfight but came home with a 62-59 victory over Clearwater Countryside to send them into the final day against Superior Collegiate Academy from Clearwater. Despite trailing by six at the half, DP outgunned SCA by 25 points in the second half for an 82-63 victory to claim fifth place. For the second time in a week, Daniel Love earned All-Tournament Team honors. The Panthers (9-4) will get one more game in before school restarts as they head down to Riviera Beach to take on Lake Worth January 5th.
