Women's Wrestling captures Kissimmee Cup

After dominating the Metro West Championship meet one day earlier, Women’s Wrestling continued their unwavering pursuit of a repeat State Championship by crushing the competition in the Kissimmee Cup Saturday at Osceola. DP saw five wrestlers take home titles and another seven earn spots in the top four. Jessica Corredor (100 pounds), Karoline Ortiz (122), Remy Vargas (162), Shania Gowan (172) and Michela Toussaint (197) all won their respective weight classes. Second place finishes were turned in by Remy Hellinger (115) and Jennifer Charles (134).  DP had four wrestlers earn third place with Trinity Rios (127), Jada St. Cyr (140), Roberts Charles (147) and Shedeline Ulysse (184) while Aaliyah Hyacinthe placed fourth at 222. As a team, the Panthers earned 251 points, easily oupacing second place Liberty by 75 points. Up next, DP heads across town for the Timber Creek Invitational tomorrow night followed by the Cypress Creek Tournament Saturday.
