Women's Basketball coasts past University

Women’s Basketball (9-8) jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and extended that lead to as many as 22 points in a 45-26 thrashing of visiting University. Samijah Butler and Truly Le combined for ten of DP’s 19 points in the first quarter while Zoe Alexander poured in six of her game-high 17 points as the Panthers led 19-2 heading into the second. Still up by 19 late in the third, Zoe Alexander ripped down a rebound and put it back in off the glass to give DP a 38-17 lead. In the fourth, Alexander buried a three from the left arc to give the Panthers their largest lead of the night before closing out with the 45-26 final. Samijah Butler finished with eight points and five rebounds while Porchia Washington ended her night with six points and six rebounds. JV Basketball improved their mark to 9-2 with their fourth consecutive victory, 44-24 over University. Nisa Costa led all scorers with 16 points. Both teams will be in action at home tonight vs. Edgewater.
