Following the meet, St.Cyr headed over to Timber Creek and went undefeated in three matches at the Timber Creek Women’s Wrestling Invitational. In the unlimited class, Amani Guzman was crowned Regional Champion with a personal best total lift of 350 pounds, which included personal bests in both the bench (175) and clean and jerk (175). Freshman Zamora St. Cyr captured third in the 129-pound class with a 255-pound total (130 bench, 125 clean) and then made it back in time to play in the JV Basketball game vs. Edgewater. In the 119-pound class, junior Megan Rush placed third with a 205-pound total while sophomore Jessica Corredor was also third at 101 pounds, finishing with a 205-pound total before winning her three wrestling matches at Timber Creek. DP also had three lifters place fourth with Angelle Domingue (169 class), Noelani Schwartz (183) and Naomi Alezi (199). Jada St. Cyr and Amani Guzman both qualified automatically for the State Championship meet February 3rd in Panama City while the remaining lifters will await results from the other regions to determine whether they qualify as well.
