Men's Soccer doubles up Windermere
1/21/2018 11:44:00 AM

Junior Raymond Negron-Valero assisted on a first half goal by Matias Mele and then scored the eventual game-winning goal in the second half as Men's Soccer knocked off visiting Windermere, 2-1, to improve to 9-6-2 on the season. With 12 minutes left in the game, the Panthers played a man short but the defense, led by Dylan Smith, Brandon Perrotti, Sam Ross and Jesus Pernia-Escorche refused to concede anything. Senior goaltender Widlin Charles was exceptional as well, stopping eight shots in the cage. JV Soccer (5-6-1) dug themselves into a two-goal deficit but rallied for a pair of scores in the final ten minutes of regulation to tie Windermere, 2-2. Pierre Abon cut the margin in half and two minutes later, Alexander Nunez knocked home the equalizer. Both teams will travel to Gateway Tuesday as they enter the final week of the regular season.
