The opening round of the 2018 Women's Soccer District Tournament pitted top-seeded Dr. Phillips and eighth-seeded Evans and the match went as expected as the host Panthers crushed the Trojans, 12-0. DP (16-1-1) tied the school record for wins in a season originally set back in 2003 and surpassed the 2006 record for goals scored in a season, netting 91 to date through 18 games. Sophomore Chloe Washington and senior Carmel de Oliveira knocked in four goals apiece while solo scores were registered by senior Stephanie Oliveira, Sophomore Kaitlyn Monague, freshman Jill Ross and senior Ana Gomes. DP's 12 goals were the most in a single game since 2002 when they scored a record 13 against Evans. The Panthers advance to the District Semifinal round at Apopka HS Wednesday night where they'll face fifth-seeded West Orange (9-7) at 5:00 pm.
