1/24/2018 7:59:00 AM

Men's Soccer got on the board early and fended off host Gateway behind three different goal scorers in a 3-1 victory to improve to 10-6-2, the Panthers' fourth victory in their last five matches. Early in the first half, Micah Martin delivered DP's first goal (and his 13th of the season) in the fifth minute with a diving header off a free kick from Gabriel Golnzalez-Alaca to put the Panthers up 1-0. In the 25th minute, Gonzalez-Alaca drove a free kick to Brandon Perrotti, who fed Matias Mele for DP's second score to double the lead to 2-0. Gateway halved the lead ten minutes into the second half but lost a golden opportunity to tie the match after missing a penalty kick. In the 65th minute, the Panthers struck again as Gabriel Gonzalez-Alaca registered his 18th assist of the season, this time for Stann Louis Jeune, who sealed the victory with the final goal of the match. DP will celebrate Senior Night tomorrow vs. Jones in the Spoone at 6:00 pm. Monday, DP will host Apopka in the quarterfinal round of the District Tournament at 6:00.
