Davarius Bargnare, Braxton Clark, Joe Gulla, Brice Ingram, Madison Lamb, Jecquari McKnight, Carmel de Oliveira and Sterling Stockwell all signed letters of intent at National Signing Day 2018

Wednesday morning saw nine DP student-athletes ink their names to National Letters of Intent in front of a packed crowd for National Signing Day. Representing Women's Soccer were Madison Lamb, who led the DP defense this year to 13 shutouts, allowing just 14 goals in 21 matches, and Carmel de Oliveira, a prolific left-footed goal-scorer that tallied 59 for her career in addition to a school record 29 assists this season and a record 84 assists over her career. Lamb signed with Pfeiffer University in North Carolina while de Oliveira will head to East Carolina. 

Football sat seven players at the table today to bring their total signings to nine, with more to come in April. Davarius Bargnare, who gained over 1,000 yards in total offense and scored ten touchdowns for the State CHampion Panthers, signed with Georgia Southern. Defensive back Braxton Clark closed a whirlwind recruitment by signing with Scott Frost and the Nebraska Cornhuskers while defensive lineman Joe Gulla, who amassed over 200 tackles in two seasons, will head up to the Ivy League at Brown University. Defensive lineman Brice Ingram, who finished with 119 tackles hths season, capped a tremendous season signing with Florida A&M. Offensive lineman Jecquari McKnight, a two-year starter and an anchor on a line that delivered consecutive State Championship game appearances, signed with Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Defensive back Tarrie Reese adds to the impressive list of secondary signees over the last eight years as he heads up to Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, joining 2017 graduates Henry Caldwell, Albert Gilreath and Darrian Hibbert. Rounding out today's signing class was three-year starting kicker Sterling Stockwell, who put his name in the record books twice with most field goals in a game (3) as well as most extra points (9). Stockwell graduates as the second-highest point scorer among kickers in school history and will head to Tulane University. 

Football will have several more signees at April's event, including Devodney Alford (Indiana Wesleyan), Dwight May (Warner) and BeSean McCray (TBD). Women's Volleyball will also be represented by Milexa Cardona (Delaware State) while Baseball's Sebastian Oetterer will sign with St. Michael's College in Vermont.
