Women's Soccer celebrates with the program's first-ever Metro West Championship trophy (2018)

Women's Soccer falls to Oviedo in Regional
2/7/2018 10:12:00 PM

Tuesday night our Women's Soccer team faced the unenviable task of taking on the two-time defending State Champion Oviedo Lions who had not surrendered a goal the entire season but the Panthers put up a strong fight, trailing only 2-0 late into the second half before a flurry of Oviedo goals in the final minutes padded the final to 5-0. DP (17-3-2) closed out their best season in school history, setting team records for wins, winning percentage, consecutive victories and tying the mark for goals scored (85). Additionally, sophomore forward Chloe Washington set the school record for goals in a season (34), eclipsing the previous record of 33 goals set by Shae Vevera in 2015 and tied by Aalyiah Bates in 2015. Senior forward Carmel de Oliveira also set school records for assists in a season (29) and career assists (84). Congratulations to the entire team and to head coach Donny George on a memorable year, highlighted by the program's first Metro West Conference Championship!
