Men's Soccer edged out by Seminole
2/7/2018 10:19:00 PM

Men's Soccer also saw their season come to a close last night in Regional Tournament action as they traveled up to face top-ranked Seminole (24-1-2). DP (14-8-2) jumped out to a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the match when Raymond Negron Valero fed Gabriel Gonzalez Alcala for a stunning opening goal. Seminole regrouped to knot the match up in the 25th minute but DP came out in the second half and scored as quickly as they did in the first with a goal just three minutes in. Gabriel Gonzalez Alcala knocked in a beautiful cross from Micah Martin for a 2-1 lead and the Panthers kept the Seminoles at bay until the 67th minute. With the match tied at 2-2, Seminole kept the pressure on the Panthers and scored the game-winner shortly thereafter. A very strong fight by DP, but just not enough this time, unfortunately. Goalkeeper Widlin Charles registered 11 saves in a spectacular effort in his final match. Outstanding work by all of our players this season and congratulations to coach Joel Dobrowolski on a return trip to the Regional Tournament and for becoming the program's all-time winningest coach with 113 victories!
