Women's Track 3rd at Seminole Invite

Saturday's Seminole Invitational at the National Training Center in Clermont saw Women's Track and Field earn top eight finishes in ten events, including a blistering victory in the 4 x 400m relay to place third overall among 25 teams. DP finished with 60 team points, just a half-point behind second place Lake Mary. Junior Zoe Alexander, senior Iyanna Ardis, sophomore Courtney Afram-Gyening and sophomore Domanique Douglas torched the rest of the field in the 4 x 400m relay in 4:15.54, a full six seconds ahead of the pack. DP's 4 x 800m relay team brought home a fourth place finish in 10:53.52 with freshman Teaghan Connolly, sophomore Britney Damon, sophomore Roxanne Deisseroth and sophomore Isabelle Nemcik. Zoe Alexander was DP's top individual placer, taking second in the 400m (1:00.92), while third place finishes were turned in by sophomore Jemiah Baker in the 100m hurdles (17.33) and senior Isabela Bartczak in the 1600m (5:16.98). Teaghan Connolly was fourth in the 800m (2:44.27), as was Courtney Afram-Gyening in the long jump (16' 3"). Rounding out our top eight placers were junior Ebone Fortilien in the 100m (fifth), freshman Shakaeja Dore in the 100m (sixth), Jemiah Baker in the long jump (sixth), Britney Damon in the 800m (sixth), freshman Armelle Oliantus in the 100m hurdles (eighth), sophomore Imani Wiley in the 300m hurdles (eighth) and sophomore Meilah Wimbush in the 3200m (eighth). DP will head down to the St. Cloud Invitational next Saturday.
