Women's Polo swamps Windermere, Edgewater

Women's Water Polo opened up their Wednesday doubleheader with a thorough 22-1 victory over visiting Windermere that saw balanced scoring across the board. Senior Alyssa Hyman scored five goals, recorded five steals and assisted on two scores. Bailey Valdes scored five goals as well along with an assist and three steals and Ana Luisa Cotta scored a career-high five goals, a team-high five steals and an assist. Caroline Grzesczak scored a hat trick, assisted on three more and picked up four steals. Hope Miller put two in the net and assisted on a third with solo goals added by Julia Batzer and Hannah Harris (with four assists and three steals). Emma Hallson (two assists, three steals), Brittney Bonnin (assist, four steals), Peyton Haines (assist, steal) and Ashlyn Ferreira (steal) completed the statistics for the Panthers while goaltender Samantha Horency notched another good win with two saves, an assist and a steal.

Game two against Edgewater went much the same way for DP as the Panthers dominated from start to finish in a 26-1 victory, tying the school record for goals in a game set back in 2014. Five players scored four goals for DP including Bailey Valdes (with four assists, two steals), Caroline Grzeszczak (two assists, three steals), Hope Miller, Alyssa Hyman (two assists) and Ana Luisa Cotta (assist). Julia Batzer scored twice with an assist and two steals with solo goals credited to Brittney Bonnin (three assists, team-high five steals), Ashlyn Ferreira (two assists), Peyton Haines (two assists, three steals) and Hannah Harris (assist, three steals). Emma Hallson assisted on four goals and Samantha Horency stopped 13 shots on goal with two assists and two steals. DP (4-0) will host Ocoee Friday.
