3/2/2018 11:03:00 PM

The bats continue to deliver in a big way for DP Softball as they pounded out ten runs in a 10-5 Metro West Conference victory over Ocoee to improve to 8-1 on the season. Raychel Trocki allowed just one run over seven innings and struck out eight batters as the Panthers won their seventh consecutive game. DP jumped on Ocoee for four runs in the third inning on their second pass through the lineup. Dejia Benn and Hannah Eden opened up the inning with consecutive singles and Kati Kelly drove an 0-1 pitch into center field for a double that scored Benn. Megan Rush followed with an RBI single to score Eden for a 2-0 lead and Tiare Kong ripped a double to center to bring home Kelly. Up 3-0 with two outs, Raychel Trocki brought home Rush with the team's third double of the inning. Ocoee responded with a run in the bottom of the third but DP answered back in the fourth. Once again, it was Benn and Eden setting the table with a single and a double to give Kati Kelly second and third with one out. An intentional walk to Kelly loaded the bases and Megan Rush delivered with a sacrifice fly for a 5-1 lead. After Tiare Kong singled to load the bases, Jordan Hartman reached on an error that allowed Hannah Eden and courtesy runner Lauren Wagner to score to push the lead to 7-1. The Panthers added three more runs over the next three innings before Ocoee tagged DP for four runs in the final inning but it wasn't enough as DP improved to 2-0 in conference play. Four Panthers registered three hits on the day: Dejia Benn (3-5, three runs), Hannah Eden (3-5, two runs), Megan Rush (3-3, two RBIs, run) and Tiare Kong (3-5, two RBIs). DP will jump back into conference play Monday as they host Wekiva at 6:00 pm.
