Men's Water Polo trailed host Lake Nona, 6-3, in the first half but battled back in the second half to take home a 13-12 victory. Tied at 12-12 with 1:28 left in the game, Gavin Collins passed to a wide open Dan Magrino at the top and Magrino buried a skip shot into the upper left 90 for the game-winning goal. Lake Nona had two opportunities to tie the game in the closing 88 seconds but Max Meisenheimer picked up a steal with 57 seconds left and then blocked a potential game-tying shot with 2.2 seconds left to clinch the victory. Meisenheimer finished with four goals, three assists and five steals on the night. James Sweet also scored four goals, assisted on two more with a pair of steals. Dan Magrino finished with three goals, two assists and three steals and Gavin Collins scored twice, assisted on a third and collected four steals. Gabe Madej was tested all night in goal and came up big down the stretch, finishing with ten saves and an assist. DP is now 15-1 on the season and will travel to Chicago Thursday for the Dan Lynch Classic. Friday afternoon, the Panthers will take on 13th-ranked Neuqua Valley (Illinois) (5-1) in the first round at Fenwick HS.
