Sophomore Megan Lapeyrouse hauls in a long pass (2017)

Flag Football shuts out Olympia
3/14/2018 11:12:00 PM

Sophomore quarterback Tamara St. Louis threw for three touchdowns and the DP defense suffocated host Olympia as Flag Football rolled to a 19-0 victory. Senior linebacker Stephanie Oliveira slammed the door on the Titans in the first quarter with the first of her three interceptions to thwart a drive deep in DP territory. The Panthers kept up the momentum shortly thereafter when St. Louis connected with junior Megan Lapeyrouse for a 20-yard touchdown to go up 6-0. DP (2-0) doubled the lead to 12-0 in the second quarter on St. Louis' second scoring pass and tacked on another six in the third. Freshman Beyonce Sierra hauled in three straight completions down the middle of the field before St. Louis tossed a one-yard touchdown pass to ice the game. Megan Lapeyrouse caught a team-high six passes and matched that effort defensively with six flag pulls. Sophomore rusher Nyah Jackson dominated the line with four quarterback sacks. JV Football took the field for the first time this season and trailed 6-0 deep into the fourth quarter before quarterback Mica Adams hit Brittany Alexis for a 25-yard touchdown with 40 seconds remaining to earn a 6-6 draw with Olympia. Alexis also picked off a pass, as did Armelle Oilunter. Both teams will host Evans tonight in the Spoone.
