Women's Track 4th at Royal Invite

Women's Track and Field earned top five finishes in nine events and placed fourth of 16 scoring teams at the 2018 Royal Invitational at First Academy. Junior Zoe Alexander took home a silver medal in her signature event, the 400m, with a time of 59.97 and also paced the 4 x 400m relay team to a bronze medal with sophomores Aasha Alexander, Domanique Douglas and Gabrielle Matthews in 4:12.97. Sophomore Roxanne Deisseroth also brought home a silver medal with a time of 2:29.35 in the 800m. Domanique Douglas added a second medal finish to her day, taking the bronze in the triple jump at 29'9.5". Rounding out our top five placers were Jemiah Baker in the 300m hurdles (fourth in 50.19), Robelina Michel in the 200m (fourth in 27.77), Gabrielle Matthews in the 110m hurdles (fourth in 16.83), Amani Guzman in the shot put (fourth in 30'7"), Bria Butler in the shot put (fifth in 29'0.5"), and Courtney Afram-Gyening in the long jump (fifth in 14'10"). DP will now prepare for the Stamper Invitational this weekend at Windermere HS.
