Varsity Baseball (8-5) benefitted from a spectacular pitching effort from both Mitchell Stockwell and Josh Arent in a 4-0 district victory at Freedom. Stockwell pitched four and two-thirds innings of shutout ball, scattering four hits while striking out two. Arent came on in relief in the fifth and slammed the door on the Patriots, allowing no runs, no hits while fanning three in two and a third innings. The offensive damage was done primarily in the three-run fifth when Brandon Fields and CJ Cantwell walked in runs and August Haymaker delivered an RBI single. Haymaker finished 1-3 with two RBIS, Hamzah Nobles went 2-4 and scored twice and Raymond Negron was 2-3 with a run scored. DP will get back at it with Freedom tomorrow at Barbati Field.

JV Baseball and visiting Freedom were deadlocked at 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning but freshman Derek Arroyo singled home Louis Rodriguez with the game-winning run for a 2-1 victory. Arroyo finished 2-5 with a double and both RBIs, Victor Osuna was 2-4 with a triple, Joel Joffe went 2-4 as well while Huber Perez was 2-4 and scored a run. On the mound, Austin Stoetzer got the start and went five innings, allowed no earned runs and fanned seven. Nicholas Dieux came on in relief and pitched three scoreless innings. DP (7-4) will head to Freedom tomorrow.
