Softball rallies to beat Olympia
3/30/2018 1:06:00 PM

Trailing by a run in the sixth inning, Softball erupted for three runs to capture a 5-3 victory over visiting Olympia last night. DP (15-2) conceded a first-inning run to the Titans but came back to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Megan Rush reached on an error with one out and scored on an RBI single to center by Raychel Trocki to tie things up at 1-1. Jordan Hartmanthen drove a double into the center field gap to bring home Trocki with the go-ahead run. The lead was brief, though, as Olympia picked up a pair of runs in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead, but in the sixth the Panthers flexed their muscles. Gracie Lopez' two-out single brought home Jordan Hartman to tie the ballgame and Dejia Benn followed with a  shot into right field that scored both Stephanie Canela and Lopez with the eventual winning runs. Gracie Lopez finished 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Jordan Hartman went 2-3 with an RBI and a run and Hannah Eden was 3-4. Raychel Trocki struck out four over seven innings and allowed just one earned run to pick up the victory. DP will now set their sights on Edgewater tonight at 6:00.
