Men's Water Polo gets to 20 wins

After suffering a disappointing loss to Seminole a night earlier, Men's Water Polo bounced back with a pair of easy victories against Oviedo and Hagerty Friday night. In the opener with Oviedo, Max Meisenheimer scored on eight of 14 shots and posted four assists and three steals as well, as DP rolled to an 18-8 victory over the Lions. Plenty of scoring to go around as junior Gavin Collins scored three goals and assisted on two more, James Sweet picked up three goals with two assists and two steals while Alex Kaiser scored two and assisted on another three. Dan Magrino chipped in with a solo goal, three assists and four steals and Colin Bryant closed out the scoring line with a solo goal. In the cage, Gabe Madej turned away six shots and assisted on a goal. In the nightcap, DP picked up their 20th victory of the season with an 18-4 thrashing of Hagerty. Max Meisenheimer secured four goals for DP as well as three assists and four steals. Gavin Collins matched that scoring with four goals of his own plus a steal on the defensive end. Dan Magrino finished the night with three goals, three steals and an assist with two goals scored by Alex Kaiser (two assists) and James Sweet (two steals). Colin Bryant added a goal and an assist, Collin Haugh scored a goal and added two steals and an assist and Raphael Sessa wrapped it all up with a goal. Gabe Madej had a strong show in the cage with five saves, three assists and a steal. DP (20-3) will take on Olympia Tuesday night for the Metro West Championship.
