Men's Track 4th at Metro West

Despite missing several key contributors this weekend, both Men's and Women's Track and Field put together some strong performances, enough for each to place fourth in the ten-team Metro West Conference Championship at Windermere HS. For the men, DP took home the gold medal in the 3200m with senior Bo Ivey (10:19.61), who also earned a bronze medal in the 1600m (4:37.26), and junior Antone Alexander captured the gold in the long jump at 20' 11". In the 110m hurdles, senior Tyrae Scott took the silver medal in 16.21 while senior Michael Fox was the bronze medalist in 16.23. DP also had bronze medalists in the 3200m with junior Josh Matzner (10:38.00), junior Arron Edwards in the 300m hurdles (42.33), freshman Ledger Hatch in the high jump (5' 9") as well as their 4 x 400m relay team of sophomore Jacquez JonesTyrae ScottArron Edwards and senior Adriel Rivera-Aponte in 3:30.75. Other top eight finishers that scored for DP included sophomore  Oshney Leger in pole vault (fourth at 10' 00"), the 4 x 800m relay team of Josh Matzner, sophomore Damon Perez, freshman Adam Berriz and Adriel Rivera-Aponte (fifth in 8:55.70), freshman Jacob Collins in pole vault (sixth at 9' 6"), Michael Fox in the triple jump (sixth at 39' 6"), the 4 x 100m relay team of junior Kenyon BaronJacquez JonesAntone Alexander and sophomore Nivon Holland (seventh in 44.39) and Kenyon Baron in the 200m (eighth in 23.35). DP will now compete in the District 4 Championship next Saturday at Showalter Field.
