Flag Football blasts winter Park

Back home in the Spoone, Flag Football scored quickly and efficiently in a 48-0 pounding of Winter Park to run their record to 8-1 on the season.  Senior quarterback Aaliyah Govan threw a career-high six touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Panthers registered their sixth shutout of the season. Govan gave DP a 7-0 lead in the first quarter with a one-yard touchdown run and doubled the lead with a 25-yard scoring pass to Megan Lapeyrouse. In the second, freshman Mykiah Presley hauled in a 50-yard pass from Govan for DP’s third touchdown of the game and the Panthers went into the half up 28-0 after Govan and Stephanie Oliveira hooked up for a three-yard score. After extending the lead to 41-0 with a 20-yard toudchdown catch by Tamara St. Louis, Govan found Mykiah Presley again from 25 yards out for the 48-0 final. JV Football picked up a strong 20-0 win last night over Winter Park as well, upping their record to 2-3-1 on the season. Tonight, the Panthers will host University before closing down the regular season next Tuesday at home agianst Edgewater.
