Men's Water Polo advances to District final

In the District Tournament Semifinal, Men's Water Polo overcame a sluggish first half and outscored West Orange, 9-1, in the second half for a 13-3 victory to advance to Thursday's title game. Junior James Sweet scored two goals, assisted on two more and collected a career-high 11 steals to give him 109 on the season, eclipsing Evan Staton's mark of 107 set in 2014. Junior Dan Magrino scored three goals, assisted on four and added five steals while junior Max Meisenheimer scored three times, picked up two assists and four steals. DP (22-4) also benefited from two goals and three steals from junior Gavin Collins as well as two goals from freshman Max Collingwood and a goal and two assists from senior Alex Kaiser. Goaltender Gabe Madej stopped 11 shots on the night while picking up an assist and a steal. The Panthers will face Olympia Thursday night at 7:30 for the District Championship.
