Softball hammers Haines City
4/21/2018 11:44:00 AM

Softball rebounded from a humbling loss to West Orange two days earlier by blasting visiting Haines City, 16-0, to close out the regular season with a 21-3 record. Raychel Trocki extended her school season record to 21 wins in the circle going all four innings, allowing just one hit while striking out ten. Trocki also jacked her fourth home run of the year and is currently tied with Hannah Eden with 32 RBIs, also a school record. Eden had another impressive day at the plate with a 2-4 performance, driving in five runs and scoring two. Eden is now the school leader for hits in a season with 40. Megan Rush went 3-4 with four RBIs and scored twice. Gracie Lopez and Deija Benn both slid past Nini Underwood's record of 37 runs scored in 2017; Lopez is currently at 40 while Benn stands at 39. DP will travel to Freedom Wednesday for the District Semifinal at 4:30 against the winner of Cypress Creek and Freedom.
