With a dominating 21-10 victory over Viera, Women's Lacrosse advances to the 2018 Regional Semifinal

Women's Lacrosse pulls away from Viera

Over on the east coast, Women’s Lacrosse shook off an early 2-0 deficit by scoring nine consecutive goals in the first half en route to a 21-10 victory over host Viera in the Regional Quarterfinal. Junior Zariah Durham scored two of her five goals less than a minute apart to cap the rally as DP (16-4) went into the halftime break with a 14-5 lead. In the second half, freshman Sara Freeman put three goals in the back of the net in less than five minutes for an 18-7 lead before Durham took a perfect pass from junior Kambria Barry and skipped one in with 7:55 left for her second straight score of the half to push the lead to 20-9. Sara Freeman finished the night with five goals and scooped up six ground balls while sophomore Mary Sosebee continued her phenomenal play, finishing with four goals and 13 draw controls. Junior Justine Decker scored four goals and assisted on five more and sophomore Michelle McGrath accounted for three goals and three assists. DP advances to the Regional Semifinal where they’ll meet up with Lake Highland for the second time this season, Monday, April 30th at 7:00 pm at Lake Highland.
