Men's Cross Country may have had three upperclassmen unavailable due to SAT testing but the younger Panthers held their own in a loaded field at the Spikes and Spurs Invitational. Sophomore Adam Berriz placed 82nd in a staggering field of 633 runners, coming through the shoot in 18:18, while sophomore Ilyas Semlali finished in 18:58. Junior Damon Perez (19:22) and sophomore Emanuel Seroka (19:57) both came home in under twenty minutes while junior Dontaveous Haynes completed the scoring margin for the Panthers with a time of 20:04. DP also saw sophomores Jose Nazario (20:15), Daniel Manzella (20:39), Spencer Pham (22:11), John Carlo-Lee (22:46) and freshman Greg Carpousis (21:17) run solid opening races as the team placed 24th in the 30-team event. The Panthers will be at full strength next Saturday as they head up to the DeLand Invitational.
