Women's Cross Country 6th in Titusville

Women's Cross Country was once again powered by the strength of its impressive freshman class as the Panthers delivered a sixth place finish at the 31-team Astronaut Invitational Saturday in Titusville. Freshman Jasmine Little continues to make her mark in the area, crossing the finish in team-leading 20:48, good for 14th individually in the field of 254 runners. Sophomore Teaghan Connolly also had a strong race with a time of 21:42, good for 35th, and freshman Amber He was close behind at 21:46 which netted her a spot at number 39. Freshman Shannon Matzner came through the shoot in 22:02 at number 51 while junior Sydney Kaufman rounded out DP's scoring five with a time of 23:04, followed by junior Meilah Wimbush just a second back at 23:05. Sophomore Sophie Cirineo (23:30) and junior Roxanne Deisseroth (24:15) completed the varsity contingent. On the JV circuit, junior Whitney Wright was DP's top runner as she placed ninth of 253 runners with a time of 23:23. Up next for the Panthers is the Early Hawk Invitational in Clermont next Saturday.
