Men's Swimming hosted a rare tri-meet with Freedom and Olympia and the Panthers came away with a split as they defeated Freedom (105-72) and fell to Olympia (103-77). Senior Dan Magrino won the 500 freestyle in 5:24.21, placed second in the 200 IM (2:12.57) and helped the 200 free relay team to a second place finish (1:34.97) with senior Gavin Collins, senior Hayden Joossens and senior Max Meisenheimer. Senior James Sweet earned a pair of individual second place finishes, in the 500 free (5:32.29) and the 100 back (1:05.15), and also assisted the 400 free relay team to a third place finish with Meisenheimer, Magrino and Collins in 3:29.75. Senior Gabe Madej took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.39), as did freshman Sole Fratila in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.30, who out-touched third place Gavin Collins at the wall by two-tenths of a second. Collins also pulled in a third place finish in the 100 free in 52.12. Hayden Joossens and sophomore Ricky Cheng rounded DP's top-three finishers in the 100 fly (1:02.13) and the 100 back (1:06.09), respectively, while Joossens teamed up with James Sweet, sophomore Martin Arias, and Gabe Madej for a third place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:51.86). The Panthers will host West Orange next Wednesday at the Aquatic Center.
