Women's Swimming knocks off Boone

While their male teammates collected most of their points on the back end against Boone, Women's Swimming captured first place in all eleven pool events in a 108-72 victory over Boone. Senior Kayla Smith brought home victories in both the 200 free (2:05.68) and the 100 breaststroke (1:13.86), junior Samantha Horency captured the 50 free (26.21) and 500 free (5:58.89), and freshman McKenzie Moreland touched the wall first in both the 200 IM (2:28.22) and the 100 fly (1:06.13) to lead the charge. Other individual champions included Ana Luisa Cotta in the 100 free (1:01.51) and Hope Miller in the 100 back (1:13.59). DP (3-2) also brought home victories in the 200 medley relay with Kayla Smith, McKenzie Moreland, Ana Luisa Cotta and Sam Horency (2:00.02), the 200 free relay with Samantha Welch, Cotta, Julia Batzer and Horency (1:52.99) and wrapped up the meet with a first place win in the 400 free relay with Moreland, Hannah Harris, Batzer and Smith (4:05.37). Freshman diver Tierney Diedrich finished second with 152.4 points. DP will wrap up the regular season next Wednesday as they host Windermere for Senior Day.
