Sophomore Brendan Valdes fired a blistering eight-under par 64 to capture the Men’s Golf District Championship, freshman Shawn Lalmoni came in at an incredible five-under par 67 to place third, and Men’s Golf finished as District Runner-Up behind Windermere in the seven-team championship match with a team score of 298. Valdes tied his own school-record for lowest round in a championship event and also shattered the school-record for the District Championship by four strokes, eclipsing the previous mark of 68 set originally by professional golfer Patrick Damron in 1996 and tied by Lucas Parrett in 2012. Sophomore Andrew Scinta placed 13th overall, finishing at 82, with freshman Andrew Olivo three places back with a round of 85. DP will now advance to the Regional Championship Monday at Orange County National.
