Women's Wrestling wins Clash of the Titans

Backed by the strength of eight individual champions, Women's Wrestling captured their 11th consecutive tournament championship with a dominating performance at the Clash of the Titans tournament at Orange City University. All told, the Panthers finished with 11 wrestlers in the championship matches to earn the team title ahead of second place Orlando University as well as Orange City University, Matanzas and Cypress Creek in spots three through five, respectively.

Senior Karoline Ortiz went a perfect 4-0 with a pair of pins to win the 132-pound title while freshman Juliana Diaz (126), senior Shania Gowan (160), sophomore Skyy Gowan (170) and junior LeAnn Bernard (182) all went 3-0 with three pins en route to individual titles. Junior Jessica Corredor  (106) and senior Shedeline Ulysse (220) pinned two of their three opponents while senior Anastasia Etienne (152) pinned both of her opponents on the way to their respective titles. Junior Jennifer Charles (138), senior Jennifer Gabriel (160) and senior Naomi Alezi (195) finished as runners-up, each with a 2-1 record with both victories by pin. Tuesday, the Panthers will head to Wekiva followed by the Freedom Duels Saturday, December 11th.
