For the sixth time in seven matches, Women's Soccer registered a shutout as they blasted visiting Wekiva, 8-0, to improve their record to 6-0-2. Sophomore Jill Ross picked up a hat trick with three goals and assisted on two more while junior Grace Owens scored three goals of her own and assisted on a fourth. Owens opened up the scoring just six minutes into the match and Kaitlyn Montague closed out the first half with a goal off an assist from Belle Robinson as DP surged to a 3-0 lead. Ross' second goal of the night came in the opening minute of the second half and sophomore Kirah Graham added another goal midway through for a 5-0 lead. Junior goaltender MacKenzie Montague was credited with the victory, her sixth clean sheet of the season. Since an opening draw with Freedom, DP has outscored its opponents, 33-1, over their past seven matches. JV Soccer (4-2-1) pitched their second straight shutout victory with a 4-0 decision over Wekiva, with all goals coming in the first half. Auriella Wolfgramm scored in the 12th minute and again in the 14th minute while Samira Maali put two of her own in the back of the net. Credit Rebecca Gross, Marina Guimaraes, Maali and Wolfgramm with assists and give Darby Silvernell her fourth shutout of the year in goal. Both teams will head to Apopka next Wednesday.
