Women's Basketball broke open a two-point game with a 15-0 second quarter run en route to a 57-18 victory over visiting Ocoee in the House of Payne Wednesday night. Leading 12-10 after the first quarter, the Panthers knocked down four three-pointers in the second quarter, three by sophomore Porchia Washington, to head into the halftime break up 32-14. In the third quarter, senior Zoe Alexander, senior Truly Le and freshman Autumn Bridges splashed in consecutive threes as the lead swelled to 43-18 with 5:45 left in the period. The baskets kept coming for DP as Alexander hit back-to-back buckets and picked up a steal that led to a layup by Truly Le at the 3:33 mark. Freshman Beyonce Sierra capped the 19-0 run with a bank off the glass that triggered the running clock with 1:26 left in the third and DP leading 54-18. Zoe Alexander led all scorers with 17 points, Truly Le added 14, Porchia Washington finished with nine points, Beyonce Sierra dropped in six and freshman Skylar Thompson chipped in with five. DP (13-6) has now won four consecutive games and seven of their last eight. Tallahassee Lincoln comes to town Friday night for a 6:00 pm tipoff.
