Women's Basketball clipped by West Orange
1/25/2019 12:19:00 PM

Women’s Basketball roared back from an eight-point first quarter deficit to take a one-point lead on host and 10th-ranked West Orange (19-3) but couldn’t hang on in the fourth in a 58-49 loss to the Warriors. Down 11-3 heading into the second quarter, the Panthers rained down threes by Zoe Alexander, Nisa Costa, Skylar Thompson and Porchia Washington en route to 23 points that pushed them to a 26-25 lead at the break. DP (15-7) held on to that lead after three quarters, 34-33, and extended the margin to four points in the fourth but foul trouble and a late flurry of turnovers in the final minutes cost them. Alexander led DP with 27 points, nine rebounds and four steals and Beyonce Sierra registered nine rebounds. The Panthers will host Timber Creek Monday night.
