If you were following the progress of the Greyhound Invitational online, you may have been concerned that Women's Wrestling's streak of tournament championships was in jeopardy but after trailing Freedom in the opening rounds, the victories piled up quickly for DP as they brought home four individual titles and a total of 10 top three finishes to win the 21-team tournament at Lyman. Seniors Karoline Ortiz (126 pounds), Jennifer Gabriel (145), Anastasia Etienne (160) and Shedeline Ulysse (220) all took home gold medals as DP (181 team points) surged past second place Freedom (132) and third place University (127) despite three of its top wrestlers helping lead Women's Weightlifting to the Regional Championship in Lakeland. DP also had three silver medalists in freshman Juliana Diaz (113), junior Jennifer Charles, junior Mikayla Fountain (138) and sophomore Skyy Gowan (182). DP will host a quad meet February 4th with Wekiva, Lyman and University in the House of Payne.
