While the team scores were closer than ever before, the result is still the same. For the third consecutive year, Women's Wrestling captured the Metro Conference Championship, earning seven individual titles along the way. Junior Jessica Corredor won her third Metro Conference title, taking the gold in the 106-pound weight class, followed by freshman Juliana Diaz' first title at 117, senior Karoline Ortiz with her second championship at 128, Shania Gowan's second title at 162, and titles in three consecutive classes for senior Naomi Alezi at 197 (her first), Shedeline Ulysse at 222 (her third) and Amani Guzman at 285 (her second title). DP held off second place Freedom, 227-205, for its 18th consecutive tournament title. Second place finishers included Jennifer Gabriel (147) and Skyy Gowan (172), while Jennifer Charles (134) and Anastasia Etienne (154) earned bronze medals. DP will now focus on defending their State Championship at home February 15th and 16th.
