Men's Water Polo rolls into semifinal

At the Lake Nona Invitational, Men's Water Polo opened the first day of competition with a pair of decisive victories to advance to the semifinal round Saturday. In the opening game, the Panthers outclassed Boone, 15-1, with senior Dan Magrino netting a career-high six goals to go with a pair of steals and an assist. Senior Max Meisenheimer pitched in with four goals, an assist and a steal, while James Sweet was a terror on defense with 11 steals, in addition to scoring two goals and assisting on three more. Sophomore Max Collingwood scored two goals, assisted on a third and added a steal as well. Sophomore Colin Bryant scored a solo goal and senior goaltender Gabe Madej stopped five shots, assisted on two goals and added a steal. In the nightcap, Max Meisenheimer scored six goals to lead the Panthers to a 14-5 victory over Lake Brantley. Colin Bryant picked up two goals with solo goals credited to Adrian Britto, Max Collingwood, Sole Fratila, Dan Magrino, James Sweet and Liam Ortiz. Sweet and Magrino led the steals category with three each while Magrino and Collingwood assisted on three goals apiece. DP (4-0) moves on to the semifinals tomorrow morning vs. Lake Nona at 11:40 am.
