Men's Track 6th at Seminole Open

With all the preseason tune-ups behind them, Men's Track and Field took part in the highly competitive Seminole Open at the National Training Center in Clermont Saturday and came home with a sixth place finish in the 25-team event. DP placed in the top eight scoring lines in nine events, led by a gold medal finish in the 4 x 400m relay. Jalen Thompson, Myles Wiley, Arron Edwards and Emmanuel Pierre crossed in 3:29.70, topping the rest of the field by three seconds. Pierre also saw success individually in the 100m with a fifth-place finish (11.00) as well as in the 4 x 100m relay with Jacquez Jones, Andrew Campos and Nivon Holland, taking fourth in 44.11. Senior Aaron Edwards was DP's top individual place-winner, earning a bronze medal in the 300m hurdles (40.55) while the Panthers saw top-eight finishes from Adam Berriz in the 1600m (sixth in 4:51) and the 800m (eighth in 2:10.32), Daniel Demontagnac in the high jump (sixth at 5'9.75") and long jump (20'6.5"), Ledger Hatch in the high jump (5'9.75") and Oshny Leger in the pole vault (11'5.25"). DP will compete Friday at the Royal Open at TFA and Saturday at the St. Cloud Invitational.
