Junior first baseman Will Sullivan (2018)

Baseball stymies TFA

DP Baseball only managed two hits for the entire game but an opportunistic fifth inning that resulted in four runs was all they needed in a 4-0 victory over First Academy to close out their preseason slate. Scoreless through four innings, DP loaded the bases in the fifth on walks by Noah Sullivan, Derek Arroyo and Raymond Negron-Valero. Jacob Hartman drew a one-out walk to bring home Sullivan and Brandon Fields was hit by a 1-1 pitch that scored Arroyo. Up 2-0, Negron-Valero came home on a wild pitch and Will Sullivan drove in Hartman with a sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead. While the bats were quiet, the arms were not. Noah Sullivan got the start and allowed just one hit and struck out three through four innings to pick up the victory while in relief, Victor Osuna, Ivan VanBeverhoudt and Casey Carns were perfect over the final three innings to secure the victory. DP will get their regular season underway Tuesday against Lake Mary with a 7:00 start at Hagerty HS.
