Senior second baseman Dejia Benn (2019)

Another shutout for Softball
3/5/2019 9:29:00 PM

Softball scored six runs in the first four innings and held Freedom scoreless in a 6-0 victory, their sixth straight shutout to open the season. Raychel Trocki allowed just two singles and struck out 13 batters in a complete game victory. DP (6-0) got all the scoring they needed in the top of the first when Dejia Benn singled and scored on a one-out double by Ailey Schyck. The Panthers doubled the lead in the second when Jordan Hartman's base hit scored Tiare  Kong and doubled the lead again in the third on a two-out single off the bat of Aliyah Headen that brought home Dejia Benn and Gracie Lopez. After Trocki struck out the side in fourth, up 4-0, DP struck again for two more runs. Tiare Kong and Raychel Trocki rapped consecutive singles to center and after Kong stole home to make it 5-0, Gracie Lopez drove home Trocki with an infield single for the final margin. DP will wrap up their season series with Freedom Thursday night before a huge game at Olympia Friday.
