Women's Water Polo moves to semifinals

Women's Water Polo rocked Oviedo, 15-5, in their opening game of the Ian Supra Memorial Tournament Friday at the Aquatic Center. Ana Luisa Cotta scored a game-high six goals, four assists and tied the school record with her 12th field block of the season. Hope Miller scored four goals, Peyton Haines scored three while Brittney Bonnin and Caitlin Clark picked up solo goals. In the cage, Sam Horency collected 11 saves and four steals.

Game two of the group stage saw DP dispatch Ocoee, 12-5, after opening up the game with an 8-1 lead that allowed liberal substitution the rest of the way. Hannah Harris led the charge with three goals, Julia Batzer and Hope Miller added two each and Avianna Capretti-Rodriguez, Caitlin Clark, Ashlyn Ferreira, Peyton Haines and Mariana Porto each adding a goal. Sam Horency only had to stop two shots but did lead the team with seven assists and five steals. DP (12-3) will take on Lake Nona this afternoon in the semifinal while in the other bracket, Seminole will face Miami Gulliver.
